Dr I Johnson, PrincipalOur central aim is to ensure Brune Park is a place of learning and opportunity for all pupils and to achieve this within a structured and supportive environment. All pupils are encouraged to develop their abilities to the full, whether they are academic, creative or practical. Pupils of all ages and abilities are expected to work hard and achieve the best standards possible.

Main Building and Drama CentreBrune Park Community College is a well-ordered community providing a secure, structured environment for learning. We have excellent facilities and offer a wide range of curriculum extension activities in addition to high standards of teaching and learning. Our recent designation as a specialist college for the Performing Arts will enhance facilities to an even higher standard.

Pupils With Brass InstrumentsAt Brune Park we believe that pupils should enjoy and learn from their everyday experiences, both in and out of college. Fulfilment grows from a sense of personal achievement and all pupils are given the opportunity to participate in a variety of educational and recreational activities. We encourage active involvement in lessons and try to ensure that our assessment of pupils' work is positive and encouraging.

The college aims to provide an educational environment which encourages pupils to become confident, competent, self-reliant and happy members of society, fully prepared for adult life and the world of work.

To this end the college seeks:

• To Promote the highest standards of academic achievement, motivation and behaviour among pupils.

• Effectively to deliver the National Curriculum and Religious Studies in accordance with LEA policy.

• To encourage each individual child to develop her or his talents to the full.

• To promote mutual respect and consideration among members of the college community so that each feels valued. Implicit in this is the provision of truly equal opportunities for all.

• To foster an awareness and appreciation of moral values and attitudes.

• To foster in our pupils creative, lively and critically enquiring minds with the ability to question and discuss rationally.

• To promote an awareness of and involvement in the local and wider world community and an understanding of other races, religions and cultures.

• To promote an understanding of the implications of living in a democratic society.

• To promote an awareness of our place in, dependency on and respect for the world environment. Our pupils are proud of Brune Park because it is a college which puts learning first.

Dr I Johnson, Principal.
